Sounds Advanced Limited

International Audio Visual equipment installers

Sounds Advanced is based in the UK and has international experience of home audio visual installations around Europe.

When we work with overseas clients the first step is a detailed breakdown of the requirement. We recommend a meeting either in the UK with the client or representative, or on site for an in-depth analysis.

Even if the first meeting is in the UK, we advise a survey at the installation location. This is also important for attaining local knowledge of electrical requirements, aerial/satellite systems, telephone points, etc. as well as identifying the fabric of the building for future drilling and cabling.

Once we are all agreed on the installation we can either send our own AV installers or work with local contractors to prepare the site, depending on which is the most satisfactory in terms of time and cost. Obviously, we would carry out the final installation of the products ourselves.

International Audio Visual Installation Case Study 1 - Malta

We were contacted by a client in Malta who wanted a multi-room audio and video system to be supplied and installed in a property that was being renovated.

After the initial brief, we sat down and took into account all the client's requirements, and produced a full system specification. This was presented at a meeting in London, and the next step was to put together our ideas for the project.

We came up with two options, one of which was a system that could offer multi-brand integration, with data control from all of the required rooms. The other was a single-brand, multi-room audio video system, making it easier to integrate all the equipment into the property.

It was now time to visit the site to meet the client, and the various on-site people who could assist in the project. The designer was briefed and produced plans of the exact location of all the equipment.

We decided to use the on-site electrician to pre-wire according to our plans and advice, as he was very knowledgeable about the construction of the house, and he was able to complete the task without a hitch. He also fitted ceiling speakers in various locations, so as not to hold up any of the decoration work. We needed to be aware of mains power supplies, and signal & satellite strengths to provide the best possible pictures and options.

A further quick visit to the site was carried out to check the completion of all wiring before final decoration was completed.

The equipment was then purchased in the UK, and our installers spent 3 days on site, carrying out a second fix on all the pre-installed cabling. This visit also included the final commissioning of all components, and teaching the client how to operate all the equipment.

The client is delighted with his new audio visual system, which gives him complete control of sound and vision anywhere in his house.

International Audio Visual Installation Case Study 2 - French Alps

The Brief
Our client had recently completed the construction of a new chalet in the French Alps. He wanted a 50" plasma screen, with Sky and DVD, as well as hi-fi with additional speakers in a dining area, and a smaller LCD TV in the master bedroom. It was important that the design of the installation should complement the decor and ambiance of the chalet.

The Solution

On this occasion we felt that Bang & Olufsen equipment would look perfect in the chalet environment. This also solved the CD/DVD problem as both are incorporated in one unit. A Bang & Olufsen cabinet housed the Beocenter 2 socket unit, Skybox and the Beolink Active to run the additional pair of speakers in the dining area. In the master bedroom a small Bang & Olufsen LCD screen was installed and linked back to the main living room.

Prior to going out to the chalet we supplied the cable and advised on its installation using a local French electrician. We then went there and worked with the electrician to complete the 1st fix cabling. Once all the cabling was installed the making good was done and we carried out the final installation of all the products. The client was delighted and we have now completed a multi-room entertainment system back at his Essex beach house.
