Plasma TV Installation - Case Study 6
The Brief
The clients were undertaking a total refurbishment of their property in Central London. They wanted a 50" plasma screen with a 5.1 home cinema sound system connected to Sky and a DVD Player. The audio system was to play in the kitchen, gym, master bedroom and on the patio area. Sky was required on various other TVs throughout the property. The room that now houses the plasma screen was two rooms that were to be knocked into one. The clients wanted the plasma screen to be the centrepiece of this room, and housed flush with the wall.
The Solution
Once the separating wall had been removed, this left two chimney breasts on the same wall, which could be used to our advantage in two ways. First, the client wanted to have a fireplace beneath the plasma screen. Filling the gap between the two chimneys created a substantial space behind the plasma to run heat from the fire away from the screen and out to the roof. Secondly, this gave us space to recess the plasma screen and speakers into the wall and hide all cabling.
